Dominican Winter League Round Robin (LIDOM)

Leones del Escogido 7 – 0 Tigres del Licey

Liriano is beginning to rack up some more consistent playing time having made starts in three of the last four games in right field. While he was hit-less in this one, his swings did look more comfortable. Defensively, he was extremely busy in right field recording four put-outs on nine batted balls in his direction. In the bottom of the eighth inning with the bases loaded, Liriano ended up being charged with a throwing error when his attempted to throw out the runner from first base trying to go to third on a soft ground ball through the right side. Liriano’s throw was actually pretty good, but it was behind the runner which made it impossible for the third baseman to corral it as it skipped by him and all the way to the dugout.

Toros del Este 3 – 0 Estrellas Orientales

While Mejia’s didn’t have his “A” game in this one, he still was able to toss six scoreless innings by relying on his signature sinker to generate weak contact through-out the game. His heavy sinker usage generated fourteen ground-balls vs seven fly-balls/line drives to go along with his three strikeouts. With both the Toros and the Leones winning their respective games, they both finished the Round Robin stage with a (10-8) record resulting in a tie-breaker game being necessary today at 6:15pm EST.

Roberto Clemente League Round Robin (LBPRC)
