Las Vegas 8, Fresno 7

After a sub-par start from Chris Schwinden left the 51s in a 7-0 nothing hole, they rallied to tie the game with seven unanswered runs across the 5th — 8th innings and put the stamp on the comeback with the walk-off hit in the 11th. Schwinden allowed two base-runners in the fifth being removed in favor of Jack Leathersich, and after he allowed them to score on Schwinden’s accord, he combined with the rest of the 51s bullpen for seven scoreless and 11 strikeouts.

There in began the comeback, with the big blows early on being a pinch-hit two-run single for Jamie Hoffmann in the bottom of the sixth and a two-run home run by Eric Campbell in the bottom of the seventh. In the eighth, Kirk Nieuwenhuis went deep to tie the game up at seven, driving Fresno fans crazy — the ones that showed up to Cashman stadium, anyway.

An error by opposing pitcher Dan Runzler left the winning run in scoring position for Eric Campbell, who came through in the clutch with the game-winning single and RBI.

This win keeps the 51s one game ahead of Sacramento for the division lead.
