Las Vegas 11, Reno 4

The Las Vegas 51s continued their domination against the Reno Aces Wednesday, using a six-run fourth inning to fuel an 11-4 victory at Cashman Field.

The 51s have taken six of seven games to open the second half of the Triple-A season against the Aces in an eight-game home-and-home series. The wins have pushed Las Vegas (55-47) into first place of the Pacific Coast League’s Pacific Southern division — one game ahead of Tucson and Sacramento.

Jamie Hoffmann went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run for Las Vegas, while Mike Baxter went 2-for-3 with two walks, two runs scored and two RBIs. Matt den Dekker’s two-run double highlighted the fourth inning scoring outburst.

Matt Fox started for the 51s and allowed four runs, just two earned, over 5.2 innings pitched for his 4th victory of the 2013 campaign. Sean Henn, D.J. Mitchell, and John Church finished the game for him in scoreless fashion.
