The Scottsdale Scorpions lost 4-1 and they fell to 12-16 on the season.

Mickey Jannis struggled early in this start. The knuckleballer gave up three in the second inning but got very little offensive support behind him. Thus, the three runs proved to be costly and the Scorpions did not recover from it. Jannis has had back-to-back mediocre starts after being dominant early on in the AFL season. In better news for Mickey, he got married over the weekend so congratulations to Mickey and his bride on that.

The Mets relievers in the Arizona Fall League are still dominating. Kyle Regnault has a 0.71 ERA in 12.2 innings of work, Tim Peterson has a 0.87 ERA in 10.1 innings of work, and Matt Pobereyko hasn’t given up a run in 11.2 innings.

On the position players side, only Luis Guillorme played. He went 0-for-3 while playing second base. Kevin Kaczmarski and David Thompson continue to lead the way with their bats. Kaczmarski is hitting .342/.388/.438 and Thompson is hitting .327/.373/.564. Both have been very impressive in the AFL and have continued their strong finishes to the season.

Winter League Action

Jenrry Mejia faced three batters last night resulting in an RBI triple, walk and groundout. He has now walked nine batters and struck out only four in 7.2 innings. He has a 3.52 ERA for the Navegantes del Magallanes of the Venezuelan Winter League.
