Scottsdale Scoprions (10-8-1) 7 – Peoria Javelinas (11-8) 5
Box Score

Tomas Nido continued his uneven Arizona Fall League performance going 0-3 with a run scored and a walk.  The walk Nido drew did prove large in this game as his one out seventh inning walk helped spark the Scorpions three run game winning rally.

Behind Nido’s struggles at the plate, there is a glimmer of hope.  Of his seven base hits, four have been doubles making this an impressive display of power from the young catcher.  Those four doubles are seventh best in the Arizona Fall League.  Even more impressive is his 11.6% walk rate.  Although a small sample size, it show signs of improvement for a player who has had the knock of being overly aggressive at the plate.

In addition to his struggles at the plate, Nido continues to have his struggles behind the plate.  Yesterday, Nido allowed two more stolen bases.  The amount of stolen bases allowed is uncharacteristic for Nido, and it is somewhat indicative how teams typically run more during Arizona Fall League games than they do during the regular season.

With the Scorpions and Javelinas will once again face off later today at 8:35 P.M. EST.
