Scottsdale Scorpions (5-4) 13 – Peoria Javelinas (5-4) 7
Box Score

2B Luis Guillorme 2-6, 2B, RBI

Guillorme continued his terrific stint in the Arizona Fall League stretching his hitting streak to four games.  In three of his four games, Guillorme has recorded a multi-hit game.  With Guillorme working to improve his power at the plate, it’s important to note he hit his first extra base hit of the season.

C Tomas Nido 0-5, BB, K

It has not been the best of times for the Mets top catching prospect in the Arizona Fall League.  This was his third hitless game, and it was the fourth game he has struck out.  On the bright side, he finally threw out a base stealer nailing Mariners prospect Eric Filia to help snuff out a fifth inning Javelinas rally.

LF Kevin Kaczmarski 2-3, 3 R, 2 RBI, BB, SB

Like Guillorme, Kaczmarski continued raking.  He has a five game hitting streak with four mulit-hit games.  This game was perhaps his most impressive performance, which is saying something.  His second inning RBI groundout got the Scorpions on the board, and his sixth inning lead-off single would start the game winning rally.

DH David Thompson 3-4, 3 R, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, BB, K

Thompson had by far his best performance in the Arizona Fall League.  With the double and the homer, Thompson now has the highest slugging percentage on the Scorpions, and the third highest in the whole Arizona Fall League.  Thompson hitting for power is a positive sign for the third baseman who the Mets likely want to see hit for some more power before giving him a more serious look as the third baseman of the future.

RHP Matt Pobereyko 2.0 IP, H, 3 K

After the Scorpions had allowed seven runs over the first innings, Pobereyko stepped in and put an end to the bleeding in what was his most pressure filled appearance to date.  In total, he has made three appearances in the Arizona Fall League, and he has yet to allow a run.  Impressively, he has struck out seven in just 4.2 innings of work.
