Briefly, it appeared Alonso was snapping out of his slump with a 2-for-4 game. Unfortunately, that was not quite the breakout game you would have hoped. After that game, Alonso has been 0-for-11 with six strikeouts.

Gimenez’s struggles during the AFL continued into this past week. More importantly, Gimenez has seen increased playing time at second base, which is perhaps a sign of what will happen this season as he gets closer and closer to the majors.

Lindsay has not played since November 1. In the six games he has played, he has been great leading his team in average and OPS. He is also ranked third in homers, which is all the more remarkable considering how sparingly he has played.

While Sanchez did not get a hit, he would impress this past week. In Wednesday’s game, he was a perfect 3-for-3 in throwing out attempted base stealers. What made the throws so impressive was not only the speed in which Sanchez got the ball to second, but also how accurate his throws were.

Bautista has continued his dominant pitching during the Arizona Fall League, and the key to his success has his not issuing free passes. Over Bautista’s last six appearances, he has pitched eight innings, and he has not issued one walk. He his also striking out 10.1 batters per nine over that stretch.

After having four consecutive scoreless outings, Blackham has struggled allowing a run in two of his last three performances. While he did not issue a walk in his last outing, he would surrender a homer in his two innings pitched.

Nogosek did not pitch this past week. On the season, he has had scoreless appearances in five of his seven outings.

Zanghi has only allowed two walks in his eight innings pitched, and the second one he issued came back to bite him. After issuing a leadoff walk and throwing the ball away, he would surrender an unearned run. That said, he has settled down after two rough outings by not allowing an earned run over his last three appearances.
