Edgardo Alfonzo, who spent eight seasons playing for the Mets, will serve as a minor-league coach in the Mets organization, according to ESPN. They claim Fonzie will likely serve as a roving instructor.
Alfonzo played 14 total seasons in the MLB, and was an All-Star in 2000 with the Mets after he hit .324/.425/.542 with 25 home runs. He was added to the organization last season as an “ambassador.”
