Ali Sanchez Out For The Season

On his Instagram page, Columbia Fireflies catcher Ali Sanchez has announced he is out for the season.

In Sanchez’s absence, Dan Rizzie has served as the team’s primary catcher, and it is anticipated that he will continue to do so.

Columbia Fireflies catcher Ali Sanchez was placed on the seven day disabled list with an undisclosed injury. There is no timetable for his return, and there has been no corresponding move yet.

Sanchez was previously on the disabled list from July 13th – July 22nd. He played one game on July 23rd against the Kannapolis Intimidators going 0-4 with two strikeouts. He has not played in a game since.

So far this season, Sanchez is hitting .231/.288/.264 with three doubles, one homer, and 15 RBI. He has thrown out 48% of base stealers.

Sanchez was recently ranked by Mets Minors as the 32nd best prospect in the Mets farm system.
