Another solid start from Giancarlo Alvarado led to a 51s victory, but the real story coming out of the game was Wilmer Flores. Flores was schedule to represent the 51s in the Triple-A All-Star game, but he left the game after the first inning with an apparent ankle injury. The break for the AS game runs until Wednesday — so Flores will have some time to heal if it’s a minor injury, even if he has to miss the all-star game. His 75 RBIs currently lead the PCL.

Well, on the topic of the game, Justin Hampson allowed a run over an inning and a third, but Greg Peavey tossed a scoreless ninth to secure the victory for the 51s. Each of Ruben Tejada, Wilmer Flores, Zach Lutz, Francisco Pena, and Matt den Dekker had an RBI in this film. Expect to see a lot more of Jordany Valdespin in Las Vegas from now on, as he was sent down for Scott Atchison at the big league level today after the Mets/Pirates game.
