The Binghamton Mets made the playoffs for the third straight season after going 77-64 during the regular season in 2015. The Reading Fightin Phils swept the B’Mets in the first round of the playoffs in a best-of-five series.

The offense scored the fourth most runs per game at 4.23 compared to the league average of 4.08 per game. They were third in the Eastern League in homeruns with 92, fourth in doubles (240), and fifth in OPS at .698. The B’Mets had little team speed and it showed as they attempted the fewest steals in the league (97) and were successful a league worst 61 times.

The pitching staff was in the top third of the league finishing tied for third for runs allowed per game at 3.85 and fourth with a 3.46 ERA. The team’s 1.246 WHIP was the third best in the league and they gave up only 69 homeruns which was the third fewest. The biggest weak spot for the 2015 B’Mets was the defense that committed 130 errors, third most in the Eastern League.

Pitching Leaders:

It was the fourth straight season with Pedro Lopez as the manager for the B’Mets, they have made the postseason in three of them and won the League Championship in 2014. Former big league pitcher Glenn Abbott was the pitching coach for the fifth straight season. Luis Natera returned to Binghamton after being New York Mets assistant hitting coach in 2014.

Dario Alvarez, Cecchini, Nimmo, Sewald, Cessa, and J-Rod were named Eastern League All-Stars with Cecchini also receiving Rookie of the Year honors.

The B’Mets had a very good season considering they saw their ace (Fulmer) traded midseason for Yoenis Cespedes while also losing key bullpen peice Matt Koch in the Addison Reed trade. Also had their outfield dismantled with the MLB promotion of Conforto and Nimmo moving up to AAA.
