Fort Myers 5, St. Lucie 3

Matthew Bowman failed to reach the five-inning plateau for the St. Lucie Mets in this one and struggled, allowing all five earned runs for Fort Myers in defeat. Bowman has not found as much success as previously hoped in St. Lucie, but his ERA stands at only 3.18, which is still pretty solid. Princeton’s Lincecum, as they call him, has some work to do — but he could turn out to be a good arm someday.

In the meantime, St. Lucie jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, but it didn’t work out from there. Kevin Plawecki, Charley Thurber, and Dustin Lawley each had RBIs in this one — with Lawley picking up RBI number 90 on the season.

Kyle Johnson stole his 10th base with the St. Lucie Mets, which gives him 42 for the season. He might touch 50.
