Brevard County 3, St. Lucie 2

It was a tough luck day for Matthew Bowman, who turned in seven strong innings, allowing just two runs — one earned — off four hits and two walks. He was on cruise control for most of the game, except for the sixth inning. He gave up two hits and two walks in the sixth, and was hurt by a fielding error by Robbie Shields and one by T.J. Rivera. Ultimately, this was a nice return to form for Bowman.

Bret Mitchell and Hamilton Bennett combined for two scoreless frames, but it was Tim Byrdak who would get knocked around for the walk-off loss.

The Mets burst out of the gates with two runs in the first, thanks to a Jayce Boyd two-run double, but would be held scoreless the entire rest of the way.
