In his first regular season action since 2013, Brandon Allen batted clean-up for the St. Lucie Mets and finished 1 for 4, with run scored and a walk.
In his first at bat, he ripped a screaming line drive to Miracle second baseman, Levi Michael, who was lucky enough not to have the ball go through him. Michael was able to knock the ball down and throw out Allen at first.
In the top of the 6th, he singled and scored on a Cam Maron single to put the Mets up 2-0.
On the defensive side, he was solid at the first base bag, eating up all the throws that came across the diamond, and even saving some throwing errors by scooping them off the ground.
It was a good first start for Allen as he looks to build on this game and work his way back up to the majors.

Brandon Allen will play in his first game of the 2014 season with the St. Lucie Mets tonight when they visit the Fort Myers Miracle for a three game series.
During a Grapefruit League match-up between the New York Mets and Washington Nationals back on March 13th, Allen sustained a calf injury in the final inning of the game and was removed.
In his first spring with the Mets, he batted .174/.208/.174 with two RBI in 23 at-bats.
Now Allen looks to get his season started as he bats clean-up in an already potent Mets offense, led by Brandon Nimmo (.400), T.J. Rivera (.378) and the surging Dilson Herrera (.364), who as a team lead the Florida State League with 132 hits, 27 doubles, 188 total bases, .290 Avg, .356 OBP, .413 Slug, in 13 games so far.
I’m going to Hammond stadium tonight (hopefully). Looking forward to seeing all of these kids. Fulmer needs to pitch like he did in his last start.
Ill be there as well with my son. Hope you enjoy the game.
