Brandon Nimmo, the New York Mets’ first round pick of 2011 has been on the disabled list since April 29. He was originally sent to the disabled list with a bruised hand, which was simply a precaution to prevent further injury. Doctors found no breaks, and while he has been taking BP with his hand taped up, has yet to return to game action.
Toby Hyde reported that Savannah planned on activating Nimmo last week, but he developed a mild quad strain which has delayed his return.
Nimmo was off to a torrid start before injuring his hand, and it will be nice to see him get back on the field and continue developing his game. He has steadily climbed up the top propsect lists this season and can be as high as No. 4 on some lists (we currently have him at No. 6 on the MMN top prospect list).
About time….the kid gloves are out when it comes to Nimmo
Toby said they started a homestand YESTERDAY and hope to have him back THIS week. He didn’t say next Monday http://metsminorleagueblog.com/brandon-nimmo/brandon-nimmo-injury-update/
He updated that after the fact…thank you
LOL…you know your site is a threat when the minions of other sites come crawling…lollol…
Kepp up the good work 🙂
This is why I say never go with blog-sourced rumors, especially SNY. We could’ve just have had Wally ask the coach at the game later. You know what, we’ll do that anyway. But yeah, I saw his cached version. Expediency over accuracy, that’s something Rubin doesn’t do.
