Brandon_Nimmo_SnBrandon Nimmo, the New York Mets’ first round pick of 2011 has been on the disabled list since April 29. He was originally sent to the disabled list with a bruised hand, which was simply a precaution to prevent further injury. Doctors found no breaks, and while he has been taking BP with his hand taped up, has yet to return to game action.

Toby Hyde reported that Savannah planned on activating Nimmo last week, but he developed a mild quad strain which has delayed his return.

Nimmo was off to a torrid start before injuring his hand, and it will be nice to see him get back on the field and continue developing his game. He has steadily climbed up the top propsect lists this season and can be as high as No. 4 on some lists (we currently have him at No. 6 on the MMN top prospect list).
