New York Mets right-handed pitching prospect Cameron Planck will be having season-ending shoulder surgery next week.
Planck, 19, has yet to pitch to make his pro debut (did pitch during instructs and extended spring training this year) since being drafted in the 11th round by the Mets last year.
He was given a $1,000,001 signing bonus by the Mets to keep him away from his commitment to the University of Louisville.
Here is a great interview that Planck was gracious enough to do with our own Ernest Dove.
He is a Met it is expected as a rite of passage for our best prospects to have season ending surgery
Right shoulder or left?
Wow, this is a new one. Not 1 pitch thrown for a team in pro ball yet and even worse shoulder than elbow surgery.
