Criollos de Caguas

Johnny Monell– 2 for 4, two runs, two walks, two RBI (.372/.438/.512 with 9 R, 6 RBI in 43 at bats)

Arnaldo Berrios– pinch ran and played left field (1 for 5, 4 walks in 8 games)

Indios de Mayaguez

T.J. Rivera– 1 for 3 with a strikeout (4 for 9 with double)

Yesterday the Serie de las Americas four-game tournament started in Miami at Marlins Park. The Cardenales de Lara beat the Navegantes de Magallanes 6-1 in the battle of Venezuelan Winter League teams. No current Mets were involved but former Met farmhand Jairo Perez was 2 for 4 with a RBI double for the Cardenales.

In the second game the Aguilas Cibaenas won 4-2 over the Tigres del Licey to move into the championship game which will be on MLB Network tonight at 7 PM. No Mets involved in this game either but former Met farmhand Francisco Pena went 1-2 with two walks, RBI, and two runs scored for the Aguilas. Former Met Pedro Beato pitched a scoreless inning for the Tigres.

The Tigres are playing the consolation game today at 2 PM today with Jenrry Mejia getting the start. He is 1-2 with a 4.02 and 1.28 WHIP in six starts for the Tigres. You can watch the game live online here.
