Today in Miami at Marlins Park the Serie De Las Americas event starts with the Navegantes del Magallanes and Cardenales de Lara taking on each other at 1 PM. Both teams are from the Venezuelan Winter League.

The second game today features the Tigres del Licey vs. the Aguilas Cibaenas at 7 PM. Both games can be seen on ESPN Deportes. On Sunday the two winners will play at 7 PM ET on MLB Network.

The only Mets affiliated player on a tournament roster is Jenrry Mejia, he has gone 1-2 with a 4.03 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in six starts for Tigres del Licey this year. Former Mets Pedro Beato and Wilson Valdez have made the roster for the tourney.

Mets minor league relief pitcher Zack Thornton has 4.02 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in 15.2 innings but is not on the Navegantes tournament roster. Former Met Ronny Cedeno is, along with Richard Hidalgo who is one of the coaches on the Navegantes staff.
