Former Mets pitcher Jeremy Hefner returned to the mound for the first time since August 6th, 2014 last night when he pitched 1.2 scoreless innings for the Gigantes del Cibao in the Dominican League. He gave up just one hit that allowed an inherited runner to score.
Former Mets Robert Carson, Ramon Ramirez, and Ramon Ortiz also pitched out of the bullpen for the Gigantes last night.
I take it that Hefner is a minor league FA at this point.
That is great to hear about Hefner. Hope he can return to the show.
Yes he is, became one after the 2014 season. If he can prove healthy he would be perfect for the type of pitching depth the Mets need.
Me too, always liked him and had some good stretches with the Mets before getting injured.
