Chasen Bradford in 7 games in relief with the Scottsdale Scorpions, has continued to pitch well and has yet to give up a run, with 5 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. He, for whatever reason was left off the AFL All Star game roster. Jeurys Familia, who in 5 games is 0-1, with a 7.50 ERA, 9 strikeouts in 6 innings, will be the Mets only player to represent the team in the game. Even Hansel Robles, who has started 4 games and is 0-1, 3.00 ERA, with 11 strikeouts in 12 innings and Cody Satterwhite, who has also pitched in relief, in 7 games has a 1.29 ERA with 7 strikeouts in 7 innings of work, have fared better than Familia.
I understand that Familia is the more highly regarded prospect, but if you want to go with who is actually performing best, I would think that anyone of the three from Bradford, Robles or even Satterwhite, would be a better fit to represent the Mets.
I was also shocked to see that Bradford was not named to the Fall Stars Game. I realize that he is a reliever, but up through yesterday he still had a ERA of 0.00!
