Good news, everyone! It looks like prospect Travis d’Arnaud is headed to New York on Monday to have his foot examined at the Hospital for Special Surgery. As Adam Rubin noted in his report, “The goal of the visit is to for d’Arnaud to be cleared to shed a protective boot and begin weight-bearing activity.”

D’Arnaud suffered a fractured metatarsal in his left foot on April 17th from a foul ball and has been in recovery ever since. He visited with doctors on May  17th, where Dr. Struan Coleman determined that he needed to stay in his protective boot for another two weeks. Although d’Arnaud has only played 79 games in AAA, his impressive numbers while there (.324/.386/.581 with 17 HRs and 60 RBIs in 315 ABs) have given most Mets fans hope

We will update you as soon as news is released on Monday. Even if it is good news, it’ll take some time for d’Arnaud to really get back into the flow of things.
