Domingo Tapia Signs With Reds

Right-hander Domingo Tapia has signed a minor league deal with the Cincinnati Reds according to Baseball America.

Tapia, 25, made 20 appearances between the Binghamton Mets and St. Lucie Mets during the 2016 season. He went 0-2 with a 3.86 ERA and 1.68 WHIP in 30.2 innings.

Tapia had Tommy John Surgery in May of 2015 and threw only 1.2 innings that season. He went 25-34 with a 4.83 ERA and 1.366 WHIP in 465.2 innings over seven seasons in the Mets minor league system.

Other Mets minor league free agents that have left the organization this offseason are Derrik Gibson (Colorado Rockies), Eric Campbell (Hanshin Tigers, Japan) and Roger Bernadina (Kia Tigers, Korea).
