On Wednesday night, Quinn Brodey showed off some of his pop with two late game home runs to the help Columbia Fireflies drive the nail in the coffin with their fourth straight victory.

Brodey, who was drafted in the third round out of Stanford last year, hit a solo home run to center field to add a sixth run in the eighth inning to answer the Greenville Drive’s three-run seventh inning that pushed the score to 5-4.

Then, after a Jeremy Vasquez walk in the ninth inning, Brodey was up, and launched another to center field to double the lead to 8-4. On the night, Brodey scored three runs and was 2-for-4 with an additional walk and strikeout.

Brodey,22, has been impressive thus far for Columbia, hitting .326/.426/.543 on the year, with two triples and two home runs. He has shown some athleticism with two stolen bases, and has shown some patience with a 7/14 walk to strikeout ratio.

With the lack of excitement from outfield prospects thus far, the Mets could definitely use some encouragement from Brodey.

Columbia keeps rolling, and returns home to face the Hickory Crawdads on Thursday.
