New York Mets 2018 first rounder and sixth overall pick Jarred Kelenic made his pro debut today in the Gulf Coast League.
What a debut it was. Kelenic went 3-for-4 with a triple, RBI and two runs scored while serving as the designated hitter for the GCL Mets in their rain-shortened 12-3 win.

Kelenic delivered an RBI single in his first pro at-bat in the Mets seven-run first inning. He would end the first inning by getting called out on strikes.
The left-handed hitter led off the third inning with his first professional triple. He singled in his final at-bat of the game in the fifth inning. All three of his hits came off left-handed pitching.
The 18-year-old from Wisconsin was given a $4.5 million signing bonus, significantly under the $5,525,200 slot value.
