Flores Bangs Out Five Hits In 51s Blowout Win, 12-2

Wilmer Flores had five hits and three runs scored Tuesday for the Las Vegas 51s in a 12-2 victory against visiting Fresno.

Flores had hits in his initial five at-bats, including a pair of doubles and an RBI. He’s batting .320 on the season and was recently named to the Pacific Coast League all-star team.

Ike Davis gave the 51s the lead for good in the first inning with a two-run home run. Rylan Sandoval had three RBIs and two runs scored, Brandon Hicks went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Brian Bixler and Juan Centeno each had two hits and two runs scored.

Chris Schwinden went six innings and allowed just two runs to pick up the victory. Justin Hampson, Sean Henn, and Robert Carson finished the game with a scoreless frame each.

The series continues at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, which is franchise’s popular Fireworks Extravaganza to celebrate Independence Day.
