Memphis 4, Las Vegas 3

Matt Fox was relatively effective again for the 51s as he went six innings while allowing three runs — only two earned — and struck out five. He ran into trouble in the fourth inning, where he gave up four hits, including a lead-off double. An error by Matt den Dekker didn’t help his cause and allowed another run to score in the inning.

For what it’s worth, the 51s rallied to tie the game up by the middle of the eighth inning, after Zach Lutz grounded out to drive in Ruben Tejada. Jamie Hoffmann had ripped a solo home run earlier in the game as well.

After a scoreless seventh from Sean Henn, he was removed after walking the lead-off batter in favor of John Church, who allowed a base hit and the subsequent game-winning sacrifice fly.

Wilmer Flores played the entire game at third base last night, for the record, and picked up two hits as well. Ruben Tejada continued his hot hitting in the PCL, cracking the .300 mark and is now sitting at .303.
