The 2018 Futures Game rosters were announced on Thursday afternoon. The 20th Futures Game will be played on July 15 at Nationals Park at 4:00 p.m. ET and can be seen on MLB Network.

Two prospects from the New York Mets farm system will be playing in the game, shortstop Andres Gimenezand first baseman Peter Alonso, arguably the team’s No. 1 and No. 2 prospect respectively.

Gimenez will play for the World roster, that has former Mets manager Jerry Manuel as the bench coach, and Alonso is on the U.S. roster.

The 19-year-old Gimenez is hitting .269/.342/.410 with 17 doubles, three triples and five home runs in 75 games for the Advanced-A St. Lucie Mets. He is 3.5 years younger than the average age in the Florida State League and leads the league with his 26 stolen bases.

Gimenez, born in Venezuela, was recently ranked as the No. 69 prospect by Baseball America in their midseason update.

The 23-year-old Alonso is hitting .287/.421/.538 with 15 doubles, 19 homers and 69 RBI in 83 combined games this year between Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Las Vegas.

Alonso, Mets second round pick in 2016, was ranked No. 77 in the BA update.

Amed Rosario and Tomas Nido represented the Mets in the 2017 Futures Game.
