The Florida State League announced their 2018 All-Star end-of-season team and pair of St. Lucie Mets made the squad.

Andres Gimenez, the Mets No.1 prospect, was selected as the starting shortstop. The teenager dominated Single-A this season before earning a deserving promotion to Double-A. With the Mets, the 23-year-old hit .282/.348/.432 with 30 RBI and matched or passed his career-highs in home runs, doubles, total bases and stolen bases.

He participated in the Futures Game in July and, at the time of his promotion, led the FSL with 28 stolen bases. He is currently MLB.com 57th ranked prospect and slashing .298/.356/.388 with 10 stolen bases in 32 games for Binghamton.

Also named to the team was the Mets’ third baseman Michael Paez. Paez was picked as the FSL’s starting third baseman. The 23-year-old has slashed at a .268/.338/.404 clip with 109 hits, 20 doubles and 40 walks so far in 2018.

Previously, Luis Santana and Guillermo Granadillo were named to the Appalachian League team and Levi Michael to the Eastern League’s squad.
