Light-hitting Jeff Glenn smacked a three-run home run in the ninth inning to lead the Savannah Sand Gnats past the Greenville Drive 6-3 on Saturday night at Fluor Field.
Glenn, a ninth-round pick of the New York Mets in 2009, hit his third homer of the year and raised his batting average to .201.
Savannah (64-43, 21-17 second half) won for the 11th time in its last 14 games and has swept the first three games in the four-game series with the Boston Red Sox affiliate.
The Gnats rallied to tie the game in the eighth inning on Jorge Rivero’s run-scoring triple. Rivero finished with two hits and upped his batting average to a team-leading .320.
Savannah’s third pitcher of the night, Paul Sewald (3-2), pitched a scoreless eighth inning to get the win. Beck Wheeler notched his 13th save with a scoreless ninth.
