The initial Arizona Fall League rosters have been announced, and the Mets are sending four position players to play for the Scottsdale Scorpions. The Scorpions are a roster comprised of some of the top minor league talent from the Mets, Angels, Giants, Reds, and Yankees. The Mets also have four open pitching spots on the roster that they can fill later.

I expect more guys to be put on this team. Nice bunch. Guillorme I think has a future as a back up INF. Thompson could be like a Ty Wigginton defacto 3rd Baseman until Vientos gets call. Nido’s bat has regressed a bit, it’s good he still doesn’t strike out a lot and has pop, however I think he needs to sort out his swing. Kaczmarski would be great if he played CF regularly but he lacks power for corners. Don’t know if he’s a 4th OF or AAAA player.
Mets are sending 8 players to AFL, 4 everyday players and 4 pitchers.
Source?? And if you have one, then who are the other players?
4 and 4 was the breakdown last year. But that doesn’t mean it will be each and every year. I believe most teams normally send 7 and can request a special exemption for an extra player. The Mets also typically don’t make the final decisions on all the spots all at once.
The other player have not been announce, but I read the Mets were committed to sending 4 everyday players and 4 pitchers. I cannot find the article that mentioned this.
