Adam Rubin of ESPN NY reports that Jeremy Hefner tossed a 1-2-3 inning for the Gulf Coast League Mets this morning in Port St. Lucie, Fla. It marked his first time pitching in a game since undergoing Tommy John surgery on Aug. 28, 2013.

In 2013 with the Mets, and prior to being placed on the DL, Hefner was 4-8, 4.34 ERA, with 99 strike outs in 130.2 innings.

Rubin adds that Hefner aims to pitch in the majors this season.
