Jenrry Mejia With Scoreless Outing In Dominican League

The Aguilas de Mexicali lost 1-0 in ten innings last night despite allowing only four hits to the Mayos de Navojoa. The series is now tied at three games with the final game in the best-of-7 series tonight with the winner going to the championship round. Xorge Carrillo went 2 for 4 for the Aguilas, he is now batting .394 during the Mexican Winter League playoffs.

The Tigres de Aragua beat the Tiburones de La Guaira 8-4 last night giving them a 3-2 series lead in the semifinals of the Venezuelan Winter League playoffs. Wuilmer Becerra continues to be on the bench for the Tigres who have decided to go with their veterans for the playoff push.

Jenrry Mejia threw a clean inning for the Tigres del Licey in their 3-1 loss to the Leones del Escogido. Mejia got a ground out and two fly ball out while lowering his postseason ERA to 4.50 in four innings. This was the second straight scoreless one inning appearance for Mejia.

It was the last night of the Dominican Winter League 18-round robin first round of the playoffs. The Leones finished tied with the Toros Del Este at 9-9 and will play a one-game playoff to see who plays the Toros in the championship series.

Johnny Monell went 0 for 4 with a walk, run scored, and struck out once for the Criollos de Caguas in their 8-6 loss last night. Monell batted third last night ahead of the Red Sox Rusney Castillo and is now batting .324 in the playoffs.
