New York Mets first round draft pick Justin Dunn has announced that he is dedicating his 2017 season to his friend and former Boston College coach, Pete Frates and the fight against ALS. Dunn will pledge $100 for every strike-out he has this season to the FrateTrain ALS Research & Support Fund and is asking fans to join in.

Frates, who was the inspiration behind the Ice Bucket Challenge, was part of the coaching staff at Boston College where Dunn played for three seasons before being drafted in the first round by the Mets in the 2016 MLB draft. Dunn is currently playing for the St. Lucie Mets and is looking forward to his first full season of professional baseball.
