According to a source, New York Mets right-handed pitching prospect Justin Dunn is being promoted to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies from the St. Lucie Mets.

Dunn, 22, is coming off the best start of his pro career when he tossed seven scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts on Monday for St. Lucie. He allowed only two hits and walked just one.

The Mets 2016 first rounder has a 2.36 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 10.1 K/9 this year in 45.2 innings. Big reason for his success has been his dominance against left-handed hitters, they have only two extra base hits off him in 90 at-bats.

Dunn needed a good to start the 2018 season after struggling mightily in 2017 with St. Lucie to the tune of a 5.00 ERA in 95.1 innings. Though you have to remember that Dunn was used mostly a reliever in his college career at Boston College.

We recently took a first hand look at Dunn which included a much improved slider that is yeilding positice results.

Dunn is expected to start for Binghamton this weekend.
