After the Kingsport Mets picked up another shutout victory last night, I noticed something pretty cool — they had picked up three consecutive victories while allowing no runs. In fact, dating back to Monday, the K-Mets haven’t allowed a run in 31.0 straight innings.

Just step back for a second and realize how impressive that is — 31.0 straight innings without a run. That’s how you win ball-games, man. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Edioglis Villasmil: 2.1 IP, 2 H, 0 BB, 3 K
  • Robert Coles: 2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K
  • Chris Flexen: 9.0 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 11 K
  • Robert Whalen: 7.0 IP, 4 H, 0 BB, 5 K
  • Alberto Baldonado: 2.0 IP, 2 H, 0 BB, 3 K
  • Brandon Welch: 5.1 IP, 3 H, 1 BB, 7 K
  • Carlos Gomez: 3.2 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 4 K

Only two walks throughout that span too against 35 strikeouts… wow. What an impressive run for Kingsport!
