Six more players were officially released from the Mets’ system on Wednesday, bringing the total to 49 this week after 23 on Monday and another 23 on Tuesday. Among the new cuts were Champ Stuart and Ricky Knapp, two members of the organization’s 2013 draft class.

Stuart, who stole 147 bases in six seasons, simply was never able to get his bat to catch up to his legs. Knapp was a two-time pitcher of the week in St. Lucie in 2016, but he ran into a wall in Las Vegas in 2017 and had shoulder problems this seasons that limited him to three non-rehab starts.
