Salt Lake 10, Las Vegas 8

The Las Vegas 51s fell behind by seven runs midway through Saturday’s game at Salt Lake and lost 10-8 despite scoring five runs in the fifth inning.

Salt Lake led 8-1 after the four innings, but Las Vegas batted around in the fifth to trim its deficit. Matt den Dekker’s three-run triple highlighted the scoring outburst. Lucas Duda went 3-for-4 with two runs for Las Vegas, Zach Lutz had three hits and three RBIs, and Ruben Tejada was 2-for-5. At this point, Duda seems to be perfectly healthy, so I’m not exactly sure what the Mets are planning… he played first base again last night, by the way.

Carlos Alvarado and Jack Leathersich got rocked in this one for a combined eight runs. Leathersich now owns a 6.48 ERA as Triple-A has not been kind to him at all. He’s still a solid relief prospect, though. The PCL isn’t the ideal place to judge how effective he can be.
