Las Vegas 6, Salt Lake 4

The Las Vegas 51s scored two runs today in the top of the ninth inning for a 6-4 victory at host Salt Lake in the first game of a five-game series. With the win, the 51s stayed in a first place tie with Sacramento in the Pacific Southern Division. Sacramento beat Tucson today, 5-3.

With the game tied at four, Eric Campbell singled with one out in the ninth for Las Vegas. He stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored the game-winning run on an RBI single from Zach Lutz. Later in the inning Matt den Dekker scored on a balk. Campbell had three hits for Las Vegas, Lutz hit his 12th home run of the year off opposing starter Tommy Hanson and Kirk Nieuwenhuis doubled and scored a run.
