Binghamton Rumble Ponies right-handed starting pitcher Marcos Molina has been activated from the Disabled List, and catcher Colton Plaia has been placed on the Disabled List to make room for him on the roster.

Molina was placed on the Seven Day Disabled List on July 17th retroactive to July 13th with an undisclosed injury.  It should be noted this is Molina’s first season since he had Tommy John surgery after the 2015 season.  Molina had struggled over his past five starts.  As the nature of the injury has not been disclosed, it is difficult to ascertain if these struggles were due to an underlying injury, due to his promotion from St. Lucie to Binghamton, or a mixture of the two.

Molina’s activation from the Disabled List does coincide with Chris Flexen getting called-up to the majors.  Flexen was due to start for the Rumble Ponies today, and Molina is going to take his spot in the rotation.

On the season, Molina has made 10 starts going 2-8 with a 3.17 ERA, 1.173 WHIP, and a 7.1 K/9.
