New York Mets right-handed pitching prospect Marcos Molina has been promoted to the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies from the St. Lucie Mets.
Molina, 22, went 2-3 with a 1.26 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 23 strikeouts compared to five walks in 28.2 innings (5 starts) to begin the season with St. Lucie. He was added to the Mets 40-man roster this past offseason.
Coming with Molina to Binghamton is catcher/infielder Tyler Moore. Moore has yet to play this season after reportedly deciding to retire during the offseason.
Infielder Jio Mier, first baseman Cody Decker and right-handed reliever Tim Peterson have been promoted from Binghamton to the Triple-A Las Vegas 51s.
Peterson has a 1.57 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 21 strikeouts compared to only five walks in 23 innings this season. He pitched one scoreless inning for the 51s earlier in 2017.
Outfielder Desmond Jennings has been released by the Mets. He was hitting .237/.301/.415 with five doubles, four triples and eight home runs in 55 games for the 51s.
Expect a flurry of more moves soon with All-Star breaks coming up very soon.

crickets……no one cares anymore…Mets are irrelevant….
What’s irrelevant is your troll comment. Mets and Mets minors are always relevant regardless of circumstance.
Yea, it is really very important who the backup 2nd baseman is for the A- Columbia ball club. Typical response from a “low bar” Met fan. Pedro was so right about clowns like you…
I know Jennings wasn’t hitting for average but he had some pop and played a good CF. surprised he wasn’t kept for depth considering how often the team gets hurt.
