Second baseman Jeff McNeil is not in tonight’s lineup for the Las Vegas 51s.

Recently, McNeil has been putting extra time in to get work at third base and left field. Over his last five games, he has played two games at third, one at second, and one in left. Yesterday, he was the DH.

It should be noted he has not had a day off in the eight games since the Triple-A All Star Break.

Another important note is the trade deadline in fast approaching. At the moment, it appears the Mets are close to moving Jeurys Familia.  It is not yet known what the pieces will be in the anticipated deal.

Depending of who is traded, there many very well be ramifications for a player like McNeil.
