In a report from Tim Healey of Newsday, the New York Mets expect Tim Tebow to return to the organization next year.  With the Mets still having Tebow’s rights, this was just a matter of Tebow wanting to return after he had season ending surgery to repair a broken hamate bone in his right hand.

Last year, Tebow had shown definitive progress as a prospect making his first All Star team.  In July, Tebow would hit .340/.364/.434 with two doubles, a homer, and six RBI in 15 games.  Overall, he would hit .273/.336/.399 with 14 doubles, a triple, six homers, and 36 RBI.

Despite the higher level of competition, Tebow posted a better triple-slash line in Binghamton than he had with either Columbia or St. Lucie last year.

One constant which had remained was Tebow being a draw.  Like with Columbia and St. Lucie, Binghamton would set attendance records.  As reported by WBNG, the Rumble Ponies had the second highest average attendance in team history and set the record for single game attendance.

With how the Mets have aggressively promoted Tebow, we should expect him to begin the season in Triple-A.  If so, Tebow will begin the season in Syracuse for the team’s inaugural season as the Mets Triple-A affiliate.
