The New York Mets earned a B ranking for their minor league system from MLB Pipeline.

Although no players in the organization were among the site’s top 100 prospects before the season, it’s noted that the steady progression by Andres Gimenez and a breakout season from Peter Alonso give some reason to look forward to the future.

Similarly, first-round picks Justin Dunn and David Peterson have overcome tempered expectations to look like future frontline starters.

While the grade is likely generous based off these names alone, it is worth noting that none of the standout youngsters in the lower minors were mentioned in Pipeline’s explanation of their rating. The prospects of Jarred Kelenic, Ronny Mauricio, and Mark Vientos seem like enough to earn a B+ on their own.

Graduations have hurt the outlook of the Mets’ farm system considerably, but there is certainly a lot more than they’re given credit for.
