As of 8:00am EST today, here are today’s Mets minor league starting pitchers:
New Orleans Zephyrs @ Las Vegas 51s, 10:05pm EST
TBD vs. Matt Fox (5-4 4.66 ERA)
The veteran Fox looks to bounce back from a rough outing in his previous start. He lasted just 4.2 innings after getting rocked for six runs (four earned) and allowing three free passes via the walk. He was 2-0 in his previous three starts prior to his poor outing.
Binghamton Mets @ Reading Fightin’ Phils, 7:05pm EST
Darin Gorski (4-1, 1.76 ERA) vs. Brody Colvin (3-2, 6.46 ERA)
Gorski looks to continue his brilliant season against Reading. The big southpaw hasn’t allowed a run in his past two starts. He earned a win in his most recent start by going 7.2 scoreless innings against Altoona. He struck out three batters and walked a pair.
Fort Myers Miracle @ St. Lucie Mets, 6:30pm EST
TBD vs. Domingo Tapia (2-8, 5.00 ERA)
Tapia looks to turn his miserable season around tonight as the Mets welcome in Fort Myers. Domingo had possibly his worst outing of the season in his last start against Bradenton. He managed to record only four outs, but only after allowing seven runners to score. He walked four batters and struck out just two. It seems that every time he starts to get on track, he has one of these games.
Savannah Sand Gnats @ Rome Braves, 7:00pm EST
Marcos Camarena (5-1, 2.52) vs. Jason Hursh (1-1, 0.82 ERA)
Camarena has been a revelation for the Sand Gnats, winning 3 of his past 6 starts. He endured a rough outing his last time out, allowing five runs in five innings. Before that, he had allowed three runs or less in 8 of 9 starts.
Hudson Valley Renegades @ Brooklyn Cyclones, 7:00pm EST
Jaime Schultz (1-1, 3.62 ERA) vs.Dario Alvarez (1-4, 4.71 ERA)
Alvarez gets the start just two starts separated from a brilliant 12 strikeout performance. The results since that outing have been mixed. He looks to recapture the magic he found that night against Lowell.
Princeton Rays @ Kingsport Mets, 7:00pm EST
Jorge Rodriguez (0-5, 4.89 ERA) vs. Chris Flexen (6-1, 2.39 ERA)
Flexen toes the rubber tonight having won his last six starts. In that span he’s amassed 30 strikeouts in 41 innings while walking just eight. He’s allowed two runs or less in five of the six starts, and has gone seven innings in all but one (6 innings). The 19-year old righty is certainly opening some eyes.
GCL Mets @ GCL Cardinals, 12:00pm EST
Mets begin a home and home with the Cardinals on the road tonights. Probable starters have not been announced.
