Las Vegas 51s @ Salt Lake Bees, 9:05pm EST

Matt Fox (6-4, 4.31 ERA) vs. Barry Enright (7-6, 6.47 ERA)

PCL League Scoreboard

Fox found himself back in the win column after his August 14th start against New Orleans. He allowed just four hits, two walks, and two strikeouts in seven shutout innings for the 51s. It was the longest he’d lasted in a game in his most recent 10 starts, and the first time he kept the opposition scoreless in an appearance since July 5th. In 94 innings pitched this season, he’s allowed 112 hits, 22 walks, and 56 strikeouts.

Devin Jones (4-5, 5.72 ERA) vs. Darin Gorski (4-1, 2.05 ERA)

EAS League Scoreboard

Gorski currently owns a four-start quality start streak, as he kicks off the series against the Baysox at home. His last appearances came on August 14th against Reading, where he allowed three runs on seven hits, two walks, and five strikeouts in six innings pitched. The B-Mets have already clinched their first playoff spot in nine years, but their magic number to clinch the EAS Eastern Division is down to three. It helps that the bullpen hasn’t allowed a run in their last 16 innings pitched.

Following a no-walk, 10-strikeout performance in his debut, he outdid himself on August 10th. He earned his first victory against Hickory, allowing four hits, no walks, and 11 strikeouts in seven shutout innings for the victory. When he was in Brooklyn, he struck out 27 batters in 34.1 innings pitched, but has fanned 21 in just 13 Sally League innings.

Mesa gets the call for Game 2, making his first start of the season for Savannah after 10 relief appearances with the club. He last appeared on August 13th against Rome, allowing one run on one hit, no walks, and three strikeouts in two innings pitched. This start will be his first since 2008, where he started 10 games in the DSL for the Nationals organization.
