Fresno Grizzlies @ Las Vegas 51s 10:05pm EST

TBD vs. Matt Fox (6-4, 4.87 ERA)

PCL League Scoreboard

Fox is hoping to bounce back from getting hit really hard on August 19th against Salt Lake. He allowed eight runs on nine hits, four walks, and one strikeout in four innings of work. Pitching at home seems to do the trick for Fox when he’s trying to get himself back on track. He’ll be making his eighth start at Cashman Field, and is currently 3-1 with a 2.90 ERA, 10 walks and 18 strikeouts in 40.1 innings pitched.

Binghamton Mets @ Akron Aeros, 7:05pm EST

Darin Gorski (4-1, 1.97 ERA) vs. Will Roberts (7-9, 4.17 ERA)

EAS League Scoreboard

Noah Syndergaard is getting a lot of attention with his recent performance in Binghamton, but Gorski is quietly putting together a tremendous season in Double-A. He earned a no decision on August 19th against Bowie, but it wasn’t because of his performance. He allowed just one run on six hits, two walks, and three strikeouts in seven innings pitched. It’s his fifth-straight quality start, and the sixth time he’s done that in his last ten starts. In 59 innings pitched as a starter, opponents are only hitting .179 off him.

St. Lucie Mets @ Fort Myers Miracle, 6:05pm EST

TBD vs. Steven Gruver (0-0, 3.52 ERA)

FSL League Scoreboard

St. Lucie got swept by Fort Myers in last night’s doubleheader. They’ll try to bounce back today, but the probable starter for the Mets hasn’t been announced yet.

A - sand gnats

West Virginia Power @ Savannah Sand Gnats, 5:05pm EST

Clay Holmes (5-6, 4.09 ERA) vs. Tim Peterson (0-0, 5.19 ERA)

West Virginia Power @ Savannah Sand Gnats, immediately after

Kyle Haynes (1-3, 2.24 ERA) vs. Steven Matz (4-6, 2.64 ERA)

SAL League Scoreboard

Peterson gets the ball for the Game 1 start, and will be appearing as a starter for the second straight time. His first start came on August 18th against Augusta. He allowed one run on four hits, no walks, and five strikeouts in 3.1 innings pitched. In 35 innings pitched between Brooklyn and Savannah, he owns a 2.57 ERA with eight walks and 46 strikeouts.

Matz will take the mound in Game 2, hoping to snap a personal two-game losing streak. He also last pitched on August 18th against Augusta. He allowed five runs (three earned) on one hit, four walks, and eight strikeouts in four innings pitched. He’s struck out 17 hitters in his last 10 innings, but the four walks he allowed were the most he’s given up in his last 10 starts.

Brooklyn Cyclones @ Vermont Lake Monsters, 6:05pm EST

Robert Gsellman (2-2, 1.82 ERA) vs. Brent Powers, 4-2, 2.61 ERA)

NYPL Scoreboard

Gsellman will look to keep the ball rolling up in Vermont as the ‘Clones are pushing toward a playoff spot. Gsellman last pitched on August 18th against Vermont, and earned his second straight no decision. The right-hander allowed one run on five hits, one walk, and five strikeouts in seven innings pitched. It was the ninth time in his last 10 starts he’s thrown at least five innings, and the third time he’s reached the seventh. He continues to impress in Brooklyn, walking just nine and striking out 46 in 59.1 innings pitched.

Kingsport Mets @ Bluefield Blue Jays, 7:05pm EST

Persio Reyes (4-4, 3.76 ERA) vs. Zakery Wasilewski (4-1, 2.82 ERA)

APP League Scoreboard

After winning three straight starts, Reyes has now lost three of his last four, with the most recent loss coming on August 17th against Bristol. He allowed seven runs (five earned) on 11 hits, one walk, and six strikeouts in seven innings pitched. It was the sixth time in eight starts he lasted at least six innings, but it was also the most hits he’s allowed in an appearance all season. He’ll try to get on track on the road; his ERA as a visitor is 5.32, while his home ERA is 2.48 ERA.
