As of 9:00am EST today, here are today’s Mets minor league starting pitchers:
Tucson Padres @ Las Vegas 51s, 10:05pm EST
Schwinden takes the mound in front of the Cashman Field crowd with hopes of breaking his current three-start no decision streak for the 51s. He last pitched on August 29th, throwing 0.1 innings of relief. Prior to that, he last started a game on August 26th against Colorado. He allowed one run on seven hits, no walks, and four strikeouts in six innings pitched. In 67.2 innings pitched at home this season, Schwinden has allowed 89 hits and 31 walks. He has a 6.65 home ERA, and has struck out 35 hitters during that time.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats @ Binghamton Mets, 7:05pm EST
Peavey took his first Double-A loss since April 10th, and got hit the hardest he has all season in Binghamton. He allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits, one walk, and four strikeouts in six innings of work. He’s been a model of consistency in August, throwing six innings in each of his four starts.
Jupiter Hammerheads @ St. Lucie Mets, 6:30pm EST
What is there left to say about Tapia? He’s still walking way too many people. His last start came against Charlotte on August 26th. He allowed two runs (none earned) on three hits, five walks, and four strikeouts in seven innings pitched. It’s the second straight start he’s walked five hitters, and the fourth time in a row he’s walked at least three in a game. He hasn’t won a game since April, and has a 7.56 ERA with 17 walks against 15 strikeouts in 16.2 August innings.
Greenville Drive @ Savannah Sand Gnats, 5:05pm EST
TBD vs. Luis Cessa (7-4, 3.15 ERA)
Greenville Drive @ Savannah Sand Gnats, immediately after

He last pitched on August 23rd against West Virginia, and took the loss. He allowed three runs on six hits (one homer), no walks, and five strikeouts in six innings of work.
Kuebler gets the ball for Game 2. He hasn’t factored in a decision since July 13th, and hasn’t won a game since June 13th. He last pitched in relief on August 24th against West Virginia, allowing three hits, one walk, and three strikeouts in 4.1 shutout innings.
