Oklahoma City Red Hawks @ Las Vegas 51s, 10:05pm EST
Asher Wojciechowski (7-4, 2.81 ERA) vs. Jacob deGrom (3-2, 4.53 ERA)
deGrom is experiencing his first real rough patch since getting promoted to Triple-A. He earned his second loss with the 51s during his last start, which came on August 2nd at Nashville. He allowed four runs on nine hits, two walks, and four strikeouts in six innings pitched. Over his last two starts (8.2 IP), deGrom has walked six hitters, allowing 17 hits and nine earned runs. He’ll be looking for his first home win tonight in his third try.
Altoona Curve @ Binghamton Mets, 6:35pm EST
David Bromberg (5-8, 3.71 ERA) vs. Darin Gorski (3-1, 2.08 ERA)
Gorski continues to pitch well for the B-Mets. His last start came on July 31st against Altoona. Although he came out with the no decision, he allowed one run (no earned) on four hits, one walk, and eight strikeouts in seven innings pitched. That followed his nine-inning, complete game loss the start before. In 38.1 innings as a starter, Gorski has put together a 1.88 ERA and a .144 opponent batting average.
St. Lucie Mets @ Bradenton Marauders, 6:30pm EST
TBD vs. Adrian Sampson (4-6, 5.53 ERA)
St. Lucie will try to come back after an 8-5 loss last night. The probable starter hasn’t been announced yet.
Hickory Crawdads @ Savannah Sand Gnats, 7:05pm EST
TBD vs. Julian Hilario (6-4, 3.82 ERA)
Hilario will be making his 32nd appearance of the season for the Sand Gnats, but only his second start. His first start of 2013 came on July 28th against Augusta; he allowed four runs on six hits, one walk, and no strikeouts in four innings pitched while earning the loss. His next appearance on August 2nd was also four innings long, but in relief. He allowed three runs on six hits, two walks, and two strikeouts while earning his sixth win of the season.
Connecticut Tigers @ Brooklyn Cyclones, 7:00pm EST
Chase Edwards (0-0, 2.87 ERA) vs. Ricky Knapp (0-1, 0.73 ERA)
Knapp will be making his first start of the season following seven successful relief appearances for the ‘Clones. His last appearance came on August 1st against Williamsport, and it was his longest of 2013. He allowed allowed three walks and five strikeouts in three no-hit innings. He’s given up eight hits in 12.1 innings pitched, and opponents are hitting .195 off him this season.
Pulaski Mariners @ Kingsport Mets, 7:00pm EST
Eddie Campbell (2-1, 1.99 ERA) vs. Chris Flexen (5-1, 2.36 ERA)
Flexen has been on some kind of roll; the right-hander has won five straight starts, throwing at least seven innings in each of his last four. His most recent appearance came on August 1st against Johnson City; he allowed two runs on eight hits, one walk, and one strikeout in seven innings pitched. It was his lowest strikeout total since July 7th against Greeneville, when he punched out only two Astros.
