Charles Brewer (4-8. 4.95 ERA) vs. Jacob deGrom (3-1, 3.00 ERA)

PCL League Scoreboard

deGrom is rumored to be one of the pitchers the Mets were considering to call up for a spot start in the big leagues Friday, so we’ll see how long he throws tonight, if he does. He won his second straight start on July 18th against Reno, starting his second half on the right foot. He allowed two runs on six hits, no walks, and three strikeouts in 6.1 innings pitched. This is his seventh start since being promoted to Triple-A, but will only be his second start at Cashman Field.

Jesse Biddle (4-9, 3.19 ERA) vs. Noah Syndergaard (2-0, 2.16 ERA)

EAS League Scoreboard

Syndergaard showed he is indeed human in his first start back from the MLB Futures Game. He earned his second-straight no decision on July 17th against Richmond. The right-hander allowed three runs on seven hits (two home runs), three walks, and five strikeouts in five innings pitched. The biggest difference in his last start compared to his first four were the amount of walks. Prior to allowing three free passes, Syndergaard walked just four in 20 innings pitched.

Cessa earned his first win since June 15th his last time on the mound against Greenville. He allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits, no walks, and six strikeouts in seven innings pitched. It was his longest outing since he went seven innings on June 23rd, and it’s the first time he hasn’t allowed a walk since June 9th against Rome.
