Tacoma Rainiers @ Las Vegas 51s, 10:05pm EST

James Paxton (2-5, 5.73 ERA) vs. D.J. Mitchell (2-2, 7.30 ERA)

PCL League Scoreboard

Following his longest start of the season (six innings pitched against Fresno on May 31st), Mitchell had his shortest outing of the year for the 51s. Mitchell only lasted 1.2 innings and allowed four runs on five hits, one walk, with one strikeout. In 33 innings pitched with Las Vegas, the right-hander has allowed 48 hits and 21 walks, against only 17 strikeouts. While everyone seems to be hitting him hard (.358 opponent batting average), left-handed hitters are getting the best of him. In 13.1 inning pitched, lefties are hitting .397 off him, allowing 17 walks and nine strikeouts.

Darin Gorski (0-0, 0.00 ERA) vs. Matt Tracy (4-3, 5.22 ERA)

EAS League Scoreboard

Mark Cohoon‘s struggles land him back in the bullpen, as Darin Gorski is activated from the disabled list to start tonight for the B-Mets. He will have an 80-pitch limit. Gorski last pitched on April 26th with Las Vegas in a relief appearance. In four appearances (three starts), Gorski was 1-1 with a 6.59 ERA.

Rainy Lara (0-1, 1.35 ERA) vs. Hoby Milner (5-2, 3.76 ERA)

FSL League Scoreboard

Lara has been performing very well since his promotion to Advanced-A St. Lucie, but the defense hasn’t backed him up. In two starts since moving on from the Sand Gnats, Lara has thrown 13.1 innings, allowing seven runs (two earned), nine hits, one walk, and nine strikeouts. It’s tough to win a ballgame when you’ve seen the defense allow five unearned runs to score while you’re on the mound. Lara’s combined ERA between both levels is 1.41, which leads all Mets minor leaguers.

TBD vs. Matt Koch (4-2, 4.76 ERA)

SAL League Scoreboard

Koch makes his eighth start of the year tonight, and is coming off getting the victory against Rome on June 7th. The right-hander went five innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits, no walks, with seven strikeouts. It was his fourth straight start of lasting at least five innings, while it was the third consecutive start he hasn’t allowed a walk. The seven punch outs were a season-high, as well. After compiling an 8.38 ERA in three relief appearances, Koch has compiled a 3-1 record as a starter, with a 3.79 ERA, 32 strikeouts, and only one walk in 35.2 innings pitched.
